Adam Nadler & Shoot George

July 25, 2011 by Marilyn Horowitz

It’s so exciting when colleagues & students get their work out there – my collaborator, friend and student Adam Nadler, with whom I worked on Caleb’s Door has a new film – Shoot George – up for an award at the Jersey Shore Film Fest!  Go get ’em Adam!

Shoot George
Director: Adam Nadler
Comedy, USA, 78 min
View Trailer

Shoot George is a modern comedy of errors about gun violence in America. The story follows George Baxter, a pacifist screenwriter who yearns to teach nonviolence to the masses with his screenplay, “He Walked Alone.” Unfortunately, George’s producers are outraged and demand that George rewrite his hero with a gun strapped to his hip, because, they say, he’s too dull, weak, and, worst of all, unsexy without it. George vehemently denies that guns make anyone more interesting or sexy, but when he finds a 9mm handgun on his doorstep, things change. He grows obsessed with the weapon, reveling in its power, and before long George finds himself not only a great success but at the top of New York’s most-wanted list
