I’m excited about sharing Joke on a Stick episode number 47!
Also, there are many more avenues to share our work, and it’s up to us to take advantage of these many opportunities in the professional arena, and by entering contests and applying for grants and fellowships.
There are a number of fellowships available, such as The Screencraft Fund, which pays $3000 to help writers. The deadline is November 30, and Thanksgiving is an ideal time to prepare your work for submissions.
One of my current students has placed in the semi-finals twice with two different projects! She’s a mother with three kids, who decided that she would take advantage of having more time to really get some writing done! Let’s offer blessings to my student, Pam.
Because of the vast consumption of dramatic material over the past nine months, the industry desperately needs good stuff. It’s your job to write it, and find a conduit. These fellowships and contests provide a pretty direct route.
So give thanks, eat turkey, find a way to be with your loved ones whether it’s in person or via zoom, and get busy!
I’m also excited to invite you to my next webinar, which will be about how to write Holiday stories. Please join me on December 2 at 7 PM EST for another fun adventure! Bring your personal experiences, and I will show you how to turn them into writing gold.
