It seems that we’ve survived the winter and Spring is upon us. Hooray!
Beware of too much Spring fever! Take some time to enjoy it, then relocate to an outdoor café or park now that things seem to be opening up, but keep writing!
I’m so happy with my amazing New York University class, Writing the Screenplay in 8 Weeks . The students have really absorbed the techniques and are churning out superior pages. It’s great to have a class where each and every story is exciting and original!
Scripting #5, my latest webinar, was equally exciting for me. Attendees were using the techniques easily and coming up with lots of original ideas! Because the stories are conceived using an organic process that couples the two sides of the brain to mine for story material, the level of the writing was breathtaking. Three of my students sent in work that with a light edit was ready for submission! Kudos, Nancy, Rex, and Lisa P.
The basic technique includes using the scripting techniques you can read about in my blogs.
The work was at such a high level that I’m going to give a final webinar on March 24 to show the writers how to take this rich material and add the final element to the process: How to use The 4 Magic Questions of Screenwriting. This final technique can help every story to be well-structured from the moment of conception!
This is a private class to reward the loyal writers who attended the previous five webinars, so it’s by invitation only. Since this series has been so successful, I’m considering offering the six-parts again as a new seminar for a small fee. I would hold it on Thursdays from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm EST, beginning in mid -April. The cost would be $300.00 or $50.00 per class including handouts and a free copy of the book, The 4 Magic Questions of Screenwriting. If you’re interested, please let me know. I would need a minimum of ten students.
