Great Structure…Every Time!/ Free Webinar Part 3

May 29, 2020 by Marilyn Horowitz

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

Last night I gave the second part of my webinar: How To Use Screenplay Structure To Create The New Stories About Coping With The Pandemic, PART 2.  It was very exciting to work with such an interesting group of people, and to share my foolproof method. Using The 4 Magic Questions of Screenwriting, we can address what plagues writers the most: creating a structure for the story.  Sound structure can be easily identified and organized into a flexible story map every single time using these techniques. Further, it’s much easier to get something written if you know what you have to write. This is also true of character. If you know what your character’s goal is, you can imagine the events necessary for the character to achieve their goal. In drama, characters must perform archetypal roles in stories and we discussed how do identify these archetypes and use them when designing your story because by working with both character and plot, you make fewer mistakes. I’m giving another webinar next Thursday.

In the third section of this interactive webinar, you’ll learn to how to expand your stories into a “soft” outline, a foolproof way to structure a memorable story every time! Using the 4 Magic Questions of Screenwriting, you’ll hone your ideas and determine if they have “legs.” I hope you’ll join me for this fun adventure. Be sure to have pen and paper at the ready! If you want to join please send me an email, and I will send you a link.

I’m very excited about the 22nd episode of Jokeonastick.com. Here’s a short clip, “Feel The Same,” that got 2600 views on Instagram.

I also used this clip to demonstrate that the 4 Magic Questions of Screenwriting. This format for your questions can apply to something that is 12 seconds long as well as a TV pilot, screenplay or novel. See if you can see the shape as you watch it.

Enjoy!

Here’s to your successful writing,
