This was a busy, busy week!
What I’m going to share is a process of scripting for effecting positive changes in your life that has completely turned me around!
In addition to creating my “Word Of The Day” and writing about it for five minutes, I also follow this additional routine:
1. On a fresh page, by hand, I write down at least seven things I want. This can include a cup of coffee, a new job, or a walk in the park. Date and label the page: Wants, then write for five minutes. I use my phone timer.
2. Take a fresh page and label it “Beliefs,” then write down at least three beliefs such as “I believe I can get to the gym today,” or “I believe that I will do a good job at work today.” This can take a minute or more.
3. Then take a fresh page and label it, “My Daily Script.” Set a timer for five minutes, then write about your day as if it has already happened – just the way you’d like it. Be careful NOT to be practical. Only think of what you wanted, not how you got it. For example, I might write: “Today was a great day! I worked on my new book for an hour and got fifteen pages done.”
4. Before you go to bed, write in your journal a brief reprise of how the day actually went. What you’ll start to notice if you take this on is that after a few weeks, your imaginary script and the reprise of the day begin to become increasingly similar!
The caveat is that you be careful to describe and define what you write in positive terms as if the events have already happened. A great resource if you want to read more about this technique is:
I’m excited to share the newest episode of Joke on a Stick. If you have subscribed, but haven’t received the weekly jokes, please try again. We had some technical difficulties that have now been resolved. If you never subscribed, this is a great time, because now everything works. We have over 200 animated jokes to tickle your fancy! Enjoy!
Here’s to your successful writing,
